Seven tower blocks were built in the early 1960s with the adopted nickname The Seven Sisters. They have become a landmark within Rochdale’s city centre. Now due to available funding repairs were being carried out which included the renewal of the brick slips.
Brick slip repair begins on the first tower block.
The brick slips are the original ones and these lined the wall/floor junction at each level of the tower block. Over time the grout behind the brick slips that glues them in place has started to de-bond causing the brick slips to weaken.

Over 2500 brick slips were repaired on the seven Sisters. To keep these bonded to the wall, over 1000 containers of THOR W60 FLEXI GROUT were used. The grout is specifically designed for repairs of this nature due to it being a non- shrink grout that gives excellent adhesion.
